Shotgun metagenomic sequencing vs. 16s technology

Tiny Health is able to report on strain level detail, while 16s has a much lower resolution and can only report on family or genius level.

*The analogy we like to give is, if you’re looking out your window, and you see an animal in the distance; 16s might be able to tell you that you are seeing a dog or a wolf, whereas shotgun metagenomic would be able to tell you for certain that it’s a dog, and further specify this is a Rottweiler.
