It depends. All HMO prebiotic supplements we know of contain trace amounts of cow’s milk. Most do not contain casein or whey proteins. Since there are only trace amounts and no casein or whey protein (often culprits of sensitivities), some babies with sensitivities can tolerate HMO prebiotics.
However, some babies with CMPA or cow’s milk sensitivity have reactions to HMO prebiotics. If your baby is sensitive, we recommend 1) Starting any new product at a low level and increasing up to the full recommended dose as tolerated, watching for any reactions. 2) Working with your provider on the decision whether to introduce HMOs
