Not all "molds" and fungi take up residence within the gut. With that being said, we do have Aspergillus and other fungal species in our database, and their presence can be detected in stool samples.
It doesn’t detect because mold from home usually gets into the bloodstream, not the gut.
If we find mold in the gut, that is more likely from moldy foods!
But mold being inhaled and getting into the bloodstream can secondarily affect the gut even if not directly colonized in it.
