At the moment, there are no microbiome tests on the market that can detect sensitivities allergies from breastmilk. We do have partners who can help and provide resources for reactivity to mom's breastmilk.
How are test may help with sensitivities: Our baby gut test can detect if your baby has any microbiome signatures that are associated with an increased microbiome risk in developing inflammatory conditions like food allergies, eczema, asthma, etc. This group of allergic conditions called "Atopic March." You can read more about the Atopic March here.
Our test will also show you any microbiome imbalances that currently need support or if the gut is trending in the right direction. Testing will tell you whether baby has the key microbes that are essential for their immune development that lays the foundation for their lifelong health. By testing early, and taking action to address microbiome imbalances, you may be able to prevent future inflammatory conditions (such as eczema, food allergies, asthma, etc.) from developing in the future.
If we do detect microbiome imbalances, our report will provide specific recommendations on how to address those imbalances in our Action Plan. While you always have the ability to change the gut microbiome community, it is easiest to course correct imbalances within the first 1000 days of life, before gut maturation occurs between age 3-5.
