Tiny Health provides testing both directly to customers and for practitioners to use with their patients and clients. Some practitioners worry that this creates competition with their work as a practitioner.
We understand this concern and have created an experience that continues to provide all people with access to microbiome testing, without competing with your work as a practitioner.
1. Testing cost: Only practitioners have access to single kits - testing without consultation included. This allows you to purchase kits at $70 less than our smallest consumer testing product (Baseline assessment which includes one test and one 30-minute coaching session). This provides a margin for practitioners when setting prices for testing and review of results.
2. Coaching session scope of practice: Tiny Health's scope of practice is limited to the microbiome results and reviewing the recommendations provided in the results portal. Microbiome specialists at Tiny Health cannot offer specific medical advice or provide prescriptive recommendations. Microbiome specialists cannot order any additional follow-up testing. In addition, microbiome specialists may explain the PRO kit insights, however, it is not within the Tiny Health scope of practice to provide recommendations for actions related to the non-microbial insights.
3. Coaching session length and goals: Tiny Health coaching sessions are only 30 minutes. This allows for result review and developing an initial recommendations outline to get started. However, many people benefit from further follow-up and incorporating microbiome recommendations into their other health-related actions and considering their overall health conditions. This is beyond the scope of Tiny Health specialists and not possible in the limited session time. Therefore, oftentimes, specialists provide insights on how customers can work with a practitioner to continue their health journey. Tiny Health is developing a "Find a practitioner" feature to help build the bridge between Tiny Health testing and longer-term health care.
4. Unlimited Practitioner training: Tiny Health offers unlimited support for practitioners for results interpretation and education. Our goal is to train practitioners to incorporate Tiny Health testing into their practice. Microbiome testing, especially when used in conjunction with other testing and in-depth personalization based on health history, can have an even further impact on health outcomes.
