Why don’t you offer vaginal testing for anyone under 18?
- No reference ranges: We don’t have validated data for vaginal microbiomes in minors, so results would lack a clear interpretation.
- Sampling considerations: Vaginal swab collection is considered invasive and can raise consent and privacy concerns for those under 18.
- Biological differences: The vaginal microbiome can differ significantly by age, and research in under-18 populations is limited.
